Blogger Recognition Award

Thursday, November 22, 2018 I was nominated for the Bloggers Recognition Award. I was ecstatic because it was unexpected and the one thing I’ve been trying to do is bring recognition to my blog. The last time I posted was Nov. 7, 2018 and I usually post weekly, but I’ve been so busy with life changes that I couldn’t find the energy to write. That notification definitely came through at the right time. Thank you Shanice for the nomination and I appreciate those who stay up to date with my blog and support me in any way possible.

  1. Thank the Blogger that nominated you.
  2. Write a post to show your award.
  3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  5. Select 15 Bloggers you want to give this award.
  6. Let each Blogger know that you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.

I was – and still am – going through a lot and have always felt alone so I decided to write about it. No matter how heartbroken, hurt, and embarrassed I’ve been/am, I’m not ashamed of what I’ve been through. I feel like I’m more willing to talk about what some aren’t ashamed, but too embarrassed to talk about. Creating a relationship with God, being cheated on, situations with fake friends and disrespectful family, etc. I want people to know that they’re not alone even if they choose to never speak on their situation(s). People are going to judge you till the day you die and I’d rather you hear my stories from me rather than anyone else. I created a blog using a pseudonym before, but I didn’t want to hide behind my truth and I like to be realistic with my writing. I can’t make up a story and keep it interesting without adding some truth to it so why not just write about my actual life situations? I can’t relate to anyone if I’m not being real with myself so I made a personal blog.

Don’t have expectations when it comes to support because strangers will be your biggest support system. Seriously, I’ve had three blogs – this being the third – and I can’t name a family member that’s shared, read, or commented on any of my post since I’ve started. However, a few friends have when I ask, but I still promote like crazy on my own. Promote your blog on every social platform you can and keep promoting. You’ll create a support system as you go so don’t waste your time staring at your views. STAY CONSISTENT AND OUT YOUR FEELINGS.

GO WITH THE FLOW! When I started blogging again I looked into so many “rules for blogging”, I tried to categorize my writing by only talking about certain things, tried to set a specific day of the week and time to post, etc. My point is don’t force yourself to write something just to say you posted. Don’t force yourself to post something you’re not interested in just because you think your readers will be. I wouldn’t write about anything I personally can’t relate too. Your blog is YOUR BLOG so give yourself time to make it right.

I’m supposed to nominate 15 Bloggers however I honestly don’t have 15.

  1. Crystallized Thought
  2. Resilient Black Girl
  3. More Than a Mrs.
  5. Angelina
  6. Coily Adventures
  7. Ma Melaine
  8. Ronkerria’s Post
  9. Pointless Overthinking

Thank you so much, again Shanice for nominating me.
